On the board, list their ideas of how they could draw a rainbow. Students will quickly realize that they cannot draw a picture of a rainbow with only one color. Encourage students to brainstorm ideas about how they could do so. Ask students to imagine that they have each been asked to draw a picture of a rainbow.
